I guess most of you know that Spanish music is not only Flamenco. There are many Spanish bands that I'm sure you will like to know.

So in your next trip to Spain, don't forget to try some Spanish music. You can do it at El Corte Inglés, Madrid Rock or Fnac. You could then buy some records and help to promote Spanish music in your country.

Madridman has some Spanish music at his All Spain Market section.

--------

For those of you who are already familiar with music from Spain here are some news:

Alejandro Sanz, whose last album sold 2 million copies (and that was in Spain only) is going to issue a new album in September.

Other bands's new albums are:

La Oreja de Van Gogh, (700000 copies sold of their first album)
Laura Pausini (more than 1 million copies sold) (She is Italian but sings in Spanish too)

And last, a new successful band now at the top of the selling lists: Estopa. They sold 150000 copies in just 1 week. Their music is a kind of flamenco / modern music (similar to Ketama).

Enjoy Spanish music,

Antonio

I just wanted to point out that, even with a million records sold in spanish, Laura Pausini is italian.

I'll be in Madrid first week of October and looked up the Alejandro Sanz website but could not find when he'll be in concert. I think MM commented on that.
Antonio, any talk in Spain (since he'll have a new album out) if he'll be on tour anytime between October and December?

I am particullarly fond of the Gipsy Kings as well, French, Spanish whatever....
While Enrique isn't bad to look at, my heart still pitter patters for his adorable father more, Julio!!! The other son has also gotten many of his father's fine features!
