While I've never been there, the location is pretty good and very very near Atocha Train Station, the Atocha metro station, and the famed El Brillante Bar!!! :jump:

The only downside I see is that it's at the bottom of the hill from Puerta del Sol/Plaza Mayor so if you're venturing in that direction you'll have to walk uphill but it's not very steep but you'll feel it more in the summertime heat.

You can plug-in the Hostal Barrera address in the http://www.QDQ.com website after clicking "Callejeros Fotográficos" in the upper righthand corner and take a photographic stroll of the area.
