While waiting for fresh reviews, you'll find via the search function that Hostal Opera in Barcelona has been rather well-reviewed here.

Anyone stayed there lately? I walked by its reception area last March and it looked more like a hotel with its large, ground-floor, glass wall reception area. It's located in El Raval, to the "left" of Las Ramblas.
