I just read that today is the last day for bullfights in Catalonia! I never thought it would happen in my lifetime!!!!!

i am hearing the news about just now on TV. nothing new other regions like Canaries island is also abolished.
They will challenge the decision in the courts, CAtalunya first and then constitutional, so the game is not over there
well thats modern Spain for you, traditions diying away, so sad but its reality
folks like me has to just live with it.

PEdmar, there was an interesting article on some of the reasons WHY, beginning with the economics (other than the obnoxious PETA crowd) a few days ago in El Pais. I don't see the link right now but might be worth taking a look when you have the time.

there is no reason to stop this, just hard head nationalists and animal right groups behind the masks. Neither has any take on culture and history, and traditions, cant deal with these people.I better be good ....
