OMG!! Can you believe the nerve of the city of Madrid? They're raising the single-trip metro/bus ticket from 1€ to 1.50€ - a 50% price hike!!! Man-oh-man, that really burns my bum!!! The 8th of August is when it starts. See article HERE.

not so bad price raising for new school year period is a habit in Europe. i pay 1,70 single ticket in PAris just yesterday ::)

I, too, realize that 1.50€ is STILL cheap for a per-trip ticket, but a 50% increase?? How about a 20% increase per year, instead?

we went from 1,60 to 1,70 in metro and 1,80 in buses ::) here where I am now its 2 € buses! I rather take the car which I did!
but of course i own it do not need to rent one or the company rents it for me ::)
