Hello all,

Those of you who remember me know that I am logging in from Turkey, I work for a company in the education industry and my employer will be sending a group of Turkish teachers of English to Madrid April 20 - 25 for some teacher training. The schedule they have lined up currently have the teachers having free days etc from Good Friday to Easter Sunday and I mentioned to them that though I haven't been to Spain in spring in 20 years, that I thought that those days everything may be closed. Can you all give me some idea of how open shops and such would be those days in 21st century Madrid? Will our teachers be able to browse? Get into attractions?

Gracias!

I was in Madrid last year around that time (arriving Easter Saturday) I didn't notice anything closed. My son and I went out for lunch and visited some sites before our 9 pm soccer game. The Puerta del Sol was full of people, so I assume the shops were open. We had lunch near the Atocha train station. I think you will be fine, but perhaps others will post if I am wrong.

Cool. i spent today coming up with a scavenger hunt for the teachers, if you see a bunch of Turks doing bizarre stuff those days, they are probably my teachers, please say hello! :-D

Sure wish I was going with them!
