I´ll be looking into this myself , but does anyone have any idea if it´s possible to visit the Bolsa de Madrid near the Ritz Hotel . Every morning , on TVE1 or TVE24 I see the glamorous reporter Gloria Prado reporting on the stock markets from what is an amazingly beautiful open hall .
In London , when I was a trader , the general public were able to visit the Stock Exchange and the LIFFE markets , though they weren´t allowed onto the floors themselves . I had a great experience visiting the CME and the CBOT in Chicago ( escorted ) and the Federal Reserve in New York . The Fed was interesting ... they were due to make a decision on interest rates .. I was in the Fed´s trading room with one of my brokers and a Fed trader . We asked him if he could give us some idea of what the Fed would be announcing . Needless to say ( with a laugh ) he declined to comment .

Any info on visiting the Bolsa de Madrid would be welcome .

Someone correct me if I'm misinterpreting the above, but it seems that you CAN tour the stock exchange but not the exchange floor, "Parquet Bolsa de Madrid".

As I mentioned before , I have had the pleasure of visiting the exchanges in London and Chicago and was given a special pass to go onto the floors and mix with the traders . In Chicago I was hosted by a former grain trader from Minnesota .. but there had been a fraud case within the CME and the FBI had been called in ..FBI agents were on the floor and they stuck out like a sore thumb with their dark glasses . One of them started to walk through the crowd towards us and we had to run to avoid any confrontation .
The idea about not letting people onto the floor is to avoid the possibility that they could trade illegaly or influence trading .
It would seem strange in Madrid as all the trading is now online and the Bolsa ( floor ) is empty .
