I was in Madrid on Saturday, October 10 and again on Saturday, October 17....on the 10th the place was still a mess, literaly, with construction barriers everywhere. On the 17th it was wonderful!! Most of the barriers have been removed, the landmarks replaced, and people were everywhere. A really great improvement! And, the new Metro Station is great - elevators, escalators, and lots of new clean space....Check it out on your next opportunity!! It was RE-inaugurated 2 days ago when it was completely open, the mayor toured the plaza and it looked nice - ONLY after 6 year of construction and building project. FINALLY!
