In two weeks time I'll visit the Island of Majorca once more time, the place were I live for ten years and I still keep in my heart.
This time I will go for the almond trees blossom, pure beauty under the Mediterranean skies.

we have a tree over in england very similar to the tree in the photos, it starts off white or pink and is called the cherry blossum, the tree is beautiful for around a week before the wind blows all its colour off, which then lands all over your garden and makes a mess, even though it is called cherry it does not produce cherrys, am i right in assuming this plant produces the almond or is it the same and just produces the flower?

Yes, you're right Billy. The trees in the pictures produce the almonds, those wich, once salted and toasted, are served as a snack, or used to make cakes, marzipans and nougats. The Mediterranean countries are the main world producers, well the U.S.A. is a big producer too.
