Just a little follow up:

I got an "A" for my thesis. I used real quotes from many here to illustrate conflicting views.

"It was a nice touch," commented my professor.

Anyway, just wanted to say thanks for the education via your perspectives, especially you Fernando.

If the people of Spain are half as friendly and helpful as the people on this site are, then I'm living in the wrong darn country.

Funny thing is, the reason I found this site was because I was about to study in either Alicante or Madrid. Then the funds fell through and the US dollar did too.

Now, I leave to study in (cheaper) Mexico for the summer. It is not Spain, but the point is to be totally immersed in the language to learn the best.

One day I will make it to Spain. I don't even know why it occupies a place in my heart, but it does. I listen to the Spain radio stations, I watch the Spain TV, I stare at the Spain webcams, ...all that stuff.

Yes, one day I will make it to Spain. But it will be the proper way, without haste. It is important to always be running towards something pleasant rather than away from something unpleasant.

Oh well, I'm rambling on and on, I know. Well, for now I'll just have to do what many others here do. Just overpay for the manchego and Spanish vino, close the eyes, put on TopRadio, and smile.
