i went over to Cleveleys on sunday which is very near to Blackpool for the day, we went to see the strickened Riverdance vessel which overturned in freak weather conditions last week, the ship overturned due to a 7mtr high wave which was unexpected and rolle the boat over
It looked very sad laying in the shallow water waiting for high tide to refloat the boat
The weather on sunday was beautiful for the time of year and its only a few days ago this happened

Here is a link I believe the same ship but is done with artistic eye from a photographer in Blackpool England that I been following and learning from. Enjoy!

Chromasia

If you have time check out his other galleries, especially the portraiture children.

the latest update i have read is, the boat will not be able to be refloated for at least a fortnight, they are having to wait for a high tide and even then they dont know if it will be high enough to refloat the ship
if anybody is in the area go along and have a look it is probably never going to happen again and even though she looks sad lying there it is still an experiance to see her first hand
(im assuming the boat is a female laugh )

The latest update on the Riverdance is not good, they have been waiting now for over 4 weeks for high tide to refloat her, well we had high tide over the past week but we have been battered with high winds and rain especialy by the coast, so as you can imagine the weather has been WORSE than when the ship actualy ran aground so the boat is still lying there, if you compare pictures from when i took them 3 weeks ago in lovely weather to now, you can see the next problem they have.

As someone once involved in the marine environment, let me say that this vessel is most likely doomed. Best to cut her to pieces and protect the environment from the worst. Vessels not properly afloat suffer all sorts of unseemly damage that will be discovered later.

Break out the torch, lads!

Well admiral44 you are correct with your information, they have finally decided the boat is to far damaged to try to refloat and the breaking up of the boat will commence shortly. They have been unlucky with the weather every time they have gone to refloat her, high winds and driving rain have put paid to it.
The locals are now up in arms due to the disruption of there lives whilst people come to see the wreckage one last time, as it is due to take around 2-3 months to finaly put her to rest
