Does anyone know if there is any type antiques sale in Portugal in September 2005? Does Belem still have a first Sunday antiques and crafts show?

Does anyone know a good source in Portugal or Spain for maps, documents, books, farm implements or objects of daily living from the 1800's? These are for our personal interest, we do not sell or trade them.

This is very important to know before deciding what towns to visit on what dates.

The best place for quality Portugues antiques is at the wonderful fair held every two years in between Lisbon and Belem in the marvellous old rope factory. I went in 2003 and it was better by far than any similar fair in Spain. This year it's on in April - details here:

Are you looking for everyday folk objects, implements and so on, or antique furniture and ceramics?

Mostly maps, books, old implements and folkart.
Don't kow how we could get furniture home on our budget.
