Gazpacho,

I'm not so sure you're ignoring Michael Moore as much as you like to think, judging for the amount (28) of your posts on this thread about a movie you haven't even seen!

"If you tell a lie big enough and keep repeating it, people will eventually come to believe it."

You may apply that to Bush and his 100% obscene "need of a 'guerra preventiva'" reasoning as well! mad
Thankfully not everyone is fooled so easily...unfortunatelly Aznar was!!!, but he "paid" for his blindness (which together with the arrogance shown during the last year could be branded stupidity and NOT conviction) already; and so will Blair (now he IS competent....in many other respects!) and your president, despite having out of this world toenails, so full of "uprightness".... rolleyes

Pim,

29 but who's counting? So much more to post and so little time to do it in. If I didn't know any better, I'd think you were accusing me of bloviating. laugh

When it comes down to it, my problem isn't with Michael Moore, I just question the intellectual honesty of anyone that would watch his films. rolleyes

It IS interesting to see the different, very polar views the RIGHT has from the LEFT.

And *I* say I just question the intellectual honesty of anyone that DOESN'T watch his films. rolleyes

Gandhi said to oppose someone's views truthfully one must first understand them to the point that you are ALMOST convinced of the correctness of their views. I think this is known as "knowing your enemy."

I find it incredible that Gazpacho can comment so much on a movie which he hasn't even bothered to see! Must be the influence of the "debating style" of Rush Limbaugh, yet another Republican hyprocrite (breaker of prescription laws, addict, liar, apparently a racist as well -- a kind of chemical Rev. Swaggart!).

30....

To quote from Fupanier on the second page of these postings?

Quote:
I don't need to go to a farm to know what a pig looks like.
Sorry, just can't improve upon that one.

And as a lady I work with keeps telling me "You just can't teach a pig to sing." So I know these postings are futile. I just wanted to see if the left had anything at all with substance to offer why I shouldn't support the President. Unfortunately, you proved me more correct than ever. I'm so disappointed, I overestimated you.

And unfortunately Martin, I know my enemy only to well. Ayn Rand has you too well pegged at "moral cannibals". Can't improve upon that one neither. "those who preach that good is self-sacrifice for the sake of incompetents on earth." also from Ms. Rand, and applies quite well to the U.N., and unfortunately, seems like what the Madridman is supporting.

Ah, well. Besides from Wolf, this debate has been a dud. Peace and happiness to all.

Well, considering even Democrats are considered rightists here, I wonder if there is a newspaper in the USA that's not right-winged.

Many compare Democrats to Social-democrats (usually called Socialist) parties of Europe, but democrats, are nowadays so similar to Republicans in ideas (like the need of the Irak war) or behaviour (like with car fuel consumption regulations- ecologics) that it's difficult to distinguish, as M. Moore says in "Stupid White Men", which I have read.

The equivalent could be Nader.

I dislike M. Moore style, both writing and in interviews, and I think he is rather populist and not always accurate, and I simply don't think he is a good writer or reporter, i find his book shoddy. However, I credit him because (because of whatever reason- I am far from considering him a saint) he has dared to say many truths that before him were hidden to the majority and points of view almost taboo.
