That's too bad about the trackbacks they are a great way to bring traffic to your blog. I hear alot of complaints about spam etc but usually via BBs and not blogs. I was going to move my blog over to wordpress but know that I figured out what I was doing wrong with blogger I may not move. I don't know if I'll ever go to my own hosting as I don't ever to expect to get that heavy into it. It's more a journal than anything

Yes. People with Wordpress/Vox, Livejournal, OpenID, and Movable Type accounts can use that account to log in in order to comment. YOU DON'T HAVE TO LOG IN TO READ THE BLOG , THOUGH!

If you don't have any of the above accounts already you can register with Movable Type before posting comments. After going through the registration process, you'll get a verification email. That email will contain log-in instructions with a temporary password. Once logged in, you can change your password to anything you like.

Recently, I required ALL commenters to register because I was getting dozens of SPAM comments per day, all about Viagra, Porn, and cheap drugs online. I don't know how other blogs avoid the SPAM comments but it seems people are more easily able to comment anonymously.

What makes blogs so cool is they are so interactive. Trent of simpledollar.com fame said the same thing, he automated his comment field because as he said if he spend all day deleting spam
