You're probably referring to "Las Cuevas de Luis Candelas" (address is Calle de Cuchilleros, 1 OR ALSO Escalerilla De Piedra, 1 - see map on QDQ.com
HERE ) which is UNDER the southwest corner of the Plaza Mayor, at the staircase of El Arco de Cuchilleros which goes down to the Calle de Cuchilleros. The restaurant, which I really like by the way, has two entrances I THINK: one is halfway UP the stiars on the right (this is the one I know) and I THINK there's another at the base and left of the stairs. You guys could meet either at the base or at the top of the stairs, I guess.

(see the door straight ahead to the left of the steps as well as halfway up the stairs on the right)
The wait-staff wear period costumes and there are musical minstrals going from room to room. Lots of nicely brick dome ceilings in there. Mmmm.. I was taken into the kitchen to see how they roasted the Cochinillo (suckling pig). They have a number of rooms and many with LARGE tables. We say at one for our 12-person group once. Sounds like fun!! Wish I could go.
Saludos, MadridMan
