Hi everybody! Well my semester here in Granada is coming to a close now...only a month left frown .
Among the many things Iv fallen in love with this semester, one of the things I think im going to miss most in the usa is flamenco dancing. Iv been taking classes all semester here and absolutely love it!! smile Soo here is my question. Can anybody tell me more about the flamenco scene in the usa? Do you think I can find classes somewhere to keep dancing, workshops? ANYTHING?? I dont want to stop dancing after all this work! laugh

Kelar,

Good question. I have no idea where you are from or going to land in the US. My wife and I ran into a neat resturant in Scottsdale, AZ that had flamenco dancing. I would reccommend that you try to find a place like that where you end up in the USA and ask some of the flamenco's there, they can probably point you in a good direction.

Hi Kelly, Here is the website of the Flamenco Arts Center in Chicago.
According to the site, the center is dedicated to:

educating people in the techniques and rhythms of flamenco creating a warm environment where flamenco can thrive.

Kelly, I feel badly about your time ending in Spain...but I am certain you will be going back ( again and again! cool )in the near future.

Here are a few ideas about the Flamenco scene here in the Big Apple: Carlota Santana
