Damn .. I really want to see that CBS special ! Eskimo Joe : Have you got any plans to do some more bullfighting ?I know you have a bairn to look after now but ........
Some board members may not be aware of the fact that here in Spain we have something called "Una Capea" .
It's a party held at a ranch ( bulls ) where you get to barbecue , drink sangria , and then go into a bullring with a young bull ( with horns ! ) .
I did it a few years ago ...It took a LOT of sangria to get me face to face with the bull . I was hiding behind the buladeros for a while before I ventured out .
The bull may have been young but it was very fast and very aggressive ! . Infact a girl ( Amy ) from Los Angeles , went before me and got hit and tossed into the air ( she was OK ) .That really didn't help my feeling about the whole thing !
Well I managed about 6 passes with the bull ... I was very proud .

REALLY!? confused I did not know that. I wonder why you never hear anyone utter the word "Matador" in Spain then, not by voice, TV, or newsprint. And why, when one does a good job they chant, "¡TORERO! ¡TORERO! ¡TORERO!"

Steve Robinson, you can watch that entire CBS special via the link I post above from YouTube.

Don't know MM...maybe it's a political correctness thing to appease the animal lovers out there as the word matador means killer. All the great bullfighters were once know as matadores.

You may want to stop by the restaurant "La Taberna de Antonio Sanchez" there in Madrid. It is a restaurant dedicated to bullfighting memorabilia and named after the son of the founder who died in the bullring. It was established in 1850. You may be familiar with it. They may be able to give you some info regarding the difference and if in fact the title has been changed.

Here is a url for the restaurant:
