Most of the pics, if not all, of that website are part of an exhibition held in Madrid this Spring, called "Madrid al Paso". It showed photographs from the old "Madrid" newspaper's archive.

Thanks Esperanza, this is a great website.

I looked at the old B&W of Puerta del Sol and a photo taken recently. It seems the fountain in the middle was moved to widen the street.

Because traffic now does not go around it today as the old photo shows.
