Hi Antonio - it was nice to meet you at the MM gathering on 15th Oct. Thanks for these links. I have all three of the Chambao albums at home and taped versions in the car.
It is interesting that you mention the advert for Andalucia. Two summers ago when I was in the south of Spain I heard this music on the TV (Canal Sur) and thought "I really like that".
Then when I was leaving to go home to Scotland, I went into the Music shop at Malaga airport and, would you believe it, this exact same music was playing. I asked the assistant who it was and then bought the album Endorfinas en la Mente.

Something similar happened with Andy and Lucas. I was watching "Ratones Coloraos" on Canal Sur and Jesus Quintero was interviewing Andy y Lucas. They picked up guitars and started to play. I instantly liked them and decided I must buy their album. On the Friday before I left, I went into the music shop in Fuengirola, but they were sold out of the CD. Luckily, when I went to the airpost I managed to get a copy there. I have since bought their second album Desde mi Barrio.

Now - here is a question for you Antonio. It is obvious that I like the fusion of Flamenco and Rock/Pop. Given that I alredy have albums by El Barrio, Andy y Lucas, Chambao and Falete, Can you suggest any other similar music I might like?

Does anyone here know Amaral?. They are very popular in Spain. Eva Amaral, the singer, has an amazing voice. Most of their songs have been played on radio.

Shawn, do you know Melendi?. If you like Estopa then I guess you'll like Melendi also. He has a similar style. But don't think about understanding the lyrics. Slang, pronunciation and references to everyday life in Spain would make it very difficult.

Try Melendi's album Sin noticias de Holanda.
Antonio, I think you're after my heart smile

When I lived in Spain, Amaral and Melendi were both part of the reason I fell in love with Spanish music. My boyfriend was an Asturiano puro and gave me a copy of "Sin noticias de Holanda" to listen to (but only after warning me that even HE had problems sometimes understanding what Melendi was saying). I also really like Sueno de Morfeo and Jarabe de Palo.

robbieroy and mse924, I'm thinking that perhaps you may like El Arrebato. He just published a greatest hits album (called "Grandes éxitos").

ESTOPA is my favorite. They just released a new CD: "Voces de Ultrarumba"

Before that, my favorite was their last album "¿La Calle Es Tuya?" and then "Destrangis". Their first, "Estopa" was okay.

My favorite songs are Vino Tinto (Destrangis) Fin De Semana (La Calle Es Tuya) and Corazón Aerodinámico (La Calle Es Tuya)

see/hear Estopa at www.estopa.com

I also really like Juanes, especially the song Fíjate Bien.

Also check out Bacilos. I like the song "Mi Primer Millon" and "Buena".

Nobody's posted since me, but I'd like to update. I still love estopa, and I got their latest CD, Voces de Ultrarumba. It's very good, especially "Fabricas de Suenos". I also like El Canto del Loco and melendi is okay. Joaquin Sabina is pretty cool.

This morning whilst listening to San Pedro de Alcantara Internet Radio, I heard a great song. I only caught a few words and after some internet searching, found out that it was called "Pirata de Boquito", performed by El Barrio.
After more searching, I found a link to a site where I could hear the song performed by A group called Algiva. I really liked it and thought that I might share the link:
http://www.forumisforum.com/VerMensaje.asp?MEId=850625
This sounds like it is a live version of the song.

Further searching led me to the official web site of Algiva:
http://www.algiva.com/
where you can hear a studio version of the same song.
On entering the site (in Spanish), you can listen to other songs na view a video clip.
There are also details of the concerts they will be playing. Now, I will be near Malaga in July, when they have two concerts.... maybe...!!

I would be interested in what you think of this song and the group Algiva. Although the group are Catalans, the song is estilo flamenco.
Regards
Robbieroy

Might I add my recommendation for El Canto Del Loco as well, and also Melendi, La Oreja de Van Gogh, and Joaquin Sabina.

I got Voces de Ultrarumba by Estopa too back in January. Looooovvveeee Fabricas de Sueños and Gulere Gulere. You can see all of their music videos at:

http://es.launch.yahoo.com/estopa

and the quality is much higher than those at www.click2music.es (but they have more exclusive, behind the scenes videos).
