Standing if front of any Velazquez's painting becomes for me a deep spiritual experience, where I can feel enlightened by the close contact to an unbelieveblely high human race achievement.

Dali used to say "only Velazquez is greater than me". Well, ok, it was the Dali's style...

Someone said that Velazquez didn't paint not just the image of portraited people, but captured their souls for ever.

I completely agree. To me his Crucified Christ speaks more to the soul than El Greco's.
