I can't believe people haven't mentioned the following...maybe I'm a music geek in Spain for liking the following (hahha):
Piensa en Mi........Luz Soy Infeliz.......Lola Beltran Anything by.......... Paco de Lucia Solo se Vive una vez......Azucar Moreno (ok, so it's like 7 years old now!) Si tu no estas.......Rosana mi pequeno tesoro........Presuntos Implicados (funny story about that...I was mistaken once for the lead singer of this group while in the Palacio Gaviria, by the MANAGER and ended up being stared at ALL night and given ROYAL treatment!!LOL) tu tierra y mis semillas......Presuntos Implicados and last but not least, a whole bunch of stuff from Luis Mariano!!! And my hubby loves Revolver

A couple more....
-Aquellas pequeñas cosas by Juan Manuel Serrat (Manu Tenorio sung it last night at Operacion Triunfo, so I was reminded of it)
-Vida, by Rosana(Arbelo), sung by a girl named Kesia; it describes the birth of a baby from his/her point of view, if you're a female, it's almost guaranteed to make you cry.

When I was younger I liked heavy/hard music: Prisionero - Los ángeles del infierno Las flores del mal - Barón Rojo Pan de higo - Rosendo Noche de rock&roll - Barricada
Then I changed to more comercial music La luz se le apagó - Alejandro Sanz (the liric can make you cry). Élla - Alejandro Sanz Peor para el sol - Joaquín Sabina
Now, I prefer to hear caribean music (salsa, bachata, merengue) but I don't know the titles of the songs, just a few: La vida es un carnaval - ? A puro dolor - Son by four ? - Luis Miguel de Lamargue
Now there's a group called Estopa that is beating hardly through the young people and they have a couple of songs that are as hymns. Just guapetona has showed one of their songs (Tu perfume es el veneno). Why don't you like them?. Because you still haven't heard anything about them?. Because their lirycs are written with complicated slang?. Their music is a mixture of Rumba and rock and roll.

hombre_gizón: Man, I remember that Barricada stuff...that is going back a few years! You must've grown up in Euskadi since ALL the young folks were listening to Barricada there back in the late 80's.

You're right Calibasco!, I've grown up in Euskadi. I've seen Barricada in small village concerts when they weren't still famous eek: and on the stage they just wore ... "Un par de calcetines rotos, las botas negras sin limpiar ..." Bye.

I saw Barricada play in New York a few years ago. 1993? It was amazing! Can you believe LOS RODRIGUEZ played before them? Anyway, Ariel Rot was also incredible. Saludos para todos desde la Gran Manzana!

I like Barricada too. I recall "Problemas" and "Oveja Negra". About Estopa, they're really popular among young people, a great success from their beginning (2 years ago). But if you really want to listen to the most popular song in Spain: "Mi musica es tu voz" from Operacion Triunfo (not the best song ever, but terribly commercial)
