There are so many, it's too hard to choose!...
Anyway, two questions; I guess by other previous posters' choices that they don't necessarily need to be songs from Spain, but sung in Spanish¿?.
And do the Spanish version of foreign songs count?, 'cause I like for instance, one called 'Acuarela' originally, by a singer from Brazil.
Right now I can only think of:
-Mediterraneo, by J.M. Serrat (also Penelope, etc....)
-Eres tu, by Mocedades (I believe it was even a hit in the US in the 70s!)
-A cara o cruz, by Radio Futura (also Escuela de calor)
-Corazon partio, By A. Sanz
-El ramito de violetas, by Cecilia!
-¿Como pudiste hacerme esto a mi? and Bailando, by Alaska
-El dia que me quieras, Esta tarde vi llover, etc,...., by Los panchos and others(I had to throw in some classical 'boleros')
Maybe some of you can check out a song by Mecano, sorry I don't know it's name, maybe El reloj de la Puerta del Sol, or something like that; the lyrics explain how New Year's eve is the one occasion when all 'españolitos' do the same thing at the same time, and it's true! Each year we perform the little "grape-ritual", etc, all at once(I don't know about Canarias, ha,ha!)which is quite amazing
