As yet I have not been to a Flamenco show or seen a Corrida de Toros live. Amazing really, as I have been to Spain so many times...

Things I've yet to do:
Walk El Camino de Santiago, see a rock concert (i.e. Ismael Serrano, Alejandro Sanz, Rosario), experience San Fermines in Pamplona, visit any of the Spanish islands, go to the cinema, visit Granada, bring myself to eat "calamares en su tinta" :p , and finally (actually, there's more but...) ......
.....TO LIVE THERE!

MadridMan, if anyone deserves to live in spain, you do, and may it be so soon. I want to visit Numancia. Walk around the Roman and Celtic camps/ruins. I would like to walk part of the way of the Camino de Santiago in the Fall. See the Picos de España during the Summer. Visit Bilbao and take a cooking course there! Just to name a few... No tomatina nor corrida en Pamplona for me! Way too risky!

I have yet to visit those places where my sefardita ancestors may have lived, i.e., Toledo, Girona, Córdoba, and Hervás. I would also like to: See Salamanca at sunset Visit Extremadura

...heheheee,,, once you eat some calamares en su tinta,,, with a cold cruzcampo to wash it all down...you will actually feel the metamorphoses taking place in your body thus turning you much more into a Spaniard...

Lots of places to visit for me yet Not even being born and living here your whole life can you visit all worthy places. I've never been to Extremadura, León, Barcelona, San Sebastián or Balearic Islands, to name some. I've never attended a flamenco show, and I've been just once in a Corrida de Toros. MM: Calamares en su tinta look horrible, but it is just for the ink. The sauce is made with tomato sauce (and thus, tastes good). Taste them at least once in your life! Fernando

Nevado has it right No matter how many times I've been to Spain - there is always more to do - if not for the first time, then the second or third!

I like this thread -I have yet to visit Asturias. I wanted so badly to go there when I was living in Spain, and never got to. If nothing else, to see what Melendi sings about and what my Asturiano ex-boyfriend always showed me pictures of. -I have yet to stay out the ENTIRE night at the discos. The latest I ever made it before going home to bed was 4 am.

To see Picasso's Guernica. Really! I cannot tell you how many times I have travelled in Spain (even lived in Madrid several times). Yet I still have not seen the original masterpiece. This past March I decided to change this fact. I took my Niece to Spain for her first visit. On our last day in Madrid, I decided to dedicate our time at the Museo de Arte Reina Sofia. We walked there from our hotel on Gran Via only to find out it was CLOSED ON TUESDAYS! Que tonta soy. :o Oh well, I guess I will have to return yet again.....hopefully in 2007. Que lastima, eh?

I've never been on a tapas crawl or kissed a Spanish boy.
Madridman, you ain't missing nothing by not going to the cinema. Dubbing, assigned seating, small screens...nobody does movies like the u.s. (and portugal, actually).

I would love to visit all the beaches in the 1998 film El Abuelo (The Grandfather, has English subtitles.( http://imdb.com/title/tt0176415/). It was shot on the Asturian Atlantic coast. Run, don't walk, to see rent this enchanting DVD and just live with the irritation that the opening scenes' audio do not match the actors' speaking mouths--it eventually clears up around the 4th scene. Some of the actors in the film are related in real life, and most of them have acted in Shakespearean and classical Spanish theatre. You are given a treat to see two of the best: Fernando Fernan Gomez and the late Rafael Alonso together. Also, if you haven't seen it, rent The Butterfly (La Lengua de las Mariposas http://imdb.com/title/tt0188030/) which also stars the incredible Fernando Fernan Gomez and is the best film about the Franco era I've yet to see. As for another of my "yets", I would like to drive through all of Galicia. Bon any (Catalan) to all, willowbarcelona
