Hey guys, this ain't funny. Secret Service already has enough problems without everyone broadcasting details of the trip. I'm sure they're pretty pissed off that the info leaked out. But then again, it's our (both US and Spanish) tax dollars at work!

I doubt this "leaked." I'm positive it's a PR effort to distance her from her high-profile drinking days.

Good for Miss Bush!!! She made it to Madrugón for the triumphant entrance! This from the Correo Gallego:
Quote:
CARMINA ESCRIGAS\SANTIAGO

Bush bodyguards clash with thieves

From correspondents in Madrid, Spain
June 16, 2004

BODYGUARDS of US President George W. Bush's daughter Jenna were entangled in a fist fight with two men trying to steal a mobile phone in southern Spain, a US embassy official said today.

The incident happened on June 10 while the president's daughter was holidaying with friends in the coastal city of Tarifa, continental Europe's southernmost point, embassy spokesman John Law said.

She was sitting at a hotel terrace when two men tried to steal a mobile phone on the table in front of her.

Ms Bush's bodyguards reacted immediately as they noticed the men's intentions and rushed toward them.

One secret service agent punched a suspect on the mouth, Mr Law said.

He could not confirm reports by state news agency Efe that one of the secret service agents pointed his gun at one of the suspects.

Ms Bush was not hurt and did not press any charges against the men, who were not arrested, Efe reported.

Jenna Bush, 22, has been in Spain since late May when she was making the Catholic pilgrimage trail known as the Way of St James to the northern city of Santiago de Compostela.

Mr Law said she had already left Spain.

Thanks for sharing, MM! Boy, I bet these guys got the scare of their lives! laugh They though it would be an easy heist! laugh

It just must have made Ms. Bush's trip to be robbed just like any other ordinary American tourist. Now she can give her friends travel tips like, Spain is a grand place, great people, fantastic scenery, good food, but watch out for the pickpockets. eek
