Late in the day, Jan 18 I'm flying to Madrid, staying overnight, and taking a 6:20AM flight to Amsterdam and beyond. I'd like a real $15 night bed in a youth hostel near the airport. The transportation in and out of town isn't worth it for just a few hours rest. Anybody have some names and phone numbers?
I really appreciate this site. It solved a lot of problems, I found a room, maps, public transportation routes and 10-pack tickets, transportation from the airport, a cheap air ticket to Malaga, and glove shopping sources. This is my first stay in Spain. Thanks a lot, Madridman!

I´m afraid there aren´t any youth hostels anywhere near Madrid Barajas airport. Transportation into/out of the airport is cheap by metro by not sensible if you leave so early in the morning. You may have to stay at one of the youth hostels in town and then arrange for a taxi or maybe make a reservation with one of the shuttle services like Aerocity. Good luck.
