Hi everyone: We are returning to Madrid in April of 2004 and this time we are travelling with our grown children and their spouses (all of them poverty-stricken students). In total there will be seven or eight of us and we are looking for an apartment or house or something with kitchen facilities where we can stay for three, four or five nights. Hopefully this fabulous place will be walking distance from Plaza Mayor (we don't mind walking a couple of miles). If anyone knows of such accomodations or has any other good ideas, we would love to hear them. Last time in Madrid we stayed at Hostal Adriano which we loved...but the price adds up because of the size of our group (we are paying for the whole group). Glad to hear the new section of Adriano is now open!!!! Hoping to hear from someone. (Also looking for a similar thing in Barcelona)

The apartment at Huespedes Jaén is 100 euros per night for 3 bedrooms with 5 people. You could do that plus a plain room for 2 at 40 euros, giving 140 euros for 4 cozy bedrooms. But then you add on yet another person and room...

We liked Huespedes Jaén . Maybe a mile to Plaza Mayor, and close to other good places. Both central and quiet.
