Hello,Ive only just found this great site while surfing so I´m feeling quite pleased with myself as I will be popping in regularly,hopefully to help and not only to chat and learn.
I have lived in Ibiza for 17 years now (7 full time)and we have nothing as grand as this site on our little island.Which is one reason why I was surfing to post a message.I dont think there is any rivalry in the following so hope you will allow me to post the message.
I am a member of holidaytruths report site and would like to invite ex-pats around the world to contribute to the forums where people use these to ask questions about resorts,hotels,weather,taxi fares,recommended places to visit and just about every conceivable thing to do with their future holiday.
Out of over 3000 members ( plus many many thousands of guest visitors ) I appear to be the only full time ex-pat, so the "Ex-pat" forum is a little lonely.There are other forums which may be of interest such as "Flight only,airlines and airports" and "Travel news" both offering useful information to ex-pats also.
The "Cyber cafe and user news" offers a well used forum for just about any subject such as off-topic discussions which do not fall in to the resort categories.It may be of great use to an ex-pat to have internet friends in the UK to bounce questions on.I have learnt a lot about using my computer and the internet.Moderators make sure the forums run without any bad feelings and although it does not stop alternative views being offered it does stop bad language and rudeness.
I live in Ibiza and my son has a couple of bars and although out and out blatant advertising posts would not be welcomed a mention of a pub,restaurant or apartment for rent while part of a post is acceptable.When answering questions on Ibiza I often end with a signature,a link to my sons two web-sites.IE.
