Just got back from Liverpool airport.
Just a quick message to say I had a WONDERFUL 3 nights in Madrid.

Hostal Lopez was great and the staff as friendly, helpful and cheerful as can be.
El Brillante didn't disappoint (on any of our FOUR visits!) - I'll miss those meatballs bigtime!

All in all I've had a great time and will definitely be back there sometime in the future.

I'll be back with a full blown account of my adventures over the next few days - at the moment I need to rest my weary legs in a nice hot bath!
wink laugh

Welcome back, notyor! Happy (but not surprised) to hear you enjoyed Hostal López AND El Brillante... TWO of my favorite places! Can't wait to hear more about your trip in the other forums. wink

Saludos, MadridMan

I didn't get in as it was a sell out.
Went up to the ground in the afternoon and the touts were asking £40 a ticket so we went back about half an hour before kick off on the assumption they'd be getting desperate - they were still asking £40! mad
We were gonna pay it just as a local told us they were fakes so we had a bit of a close shave! rolleyes
Tried bribing the lads on the turnstiles but they weren't having any so we went and watched it in a bar across the road.
At half time we were informed that all the people in the bar were Real's "lads", so we watched a bit of amateur football hooliganism (i.e loads of posturing, no fighting! rolleyes )at half time and then headed back to the City Centre.
It was good going up and soaking up the atmosphere though.

Hope you fare better than we did on the ticket front. laugh
