I've read plenty of comments on the Hostal Massachusetts but most of them appear to complain about the area without making comment on the actual accommodation. Could anyone provide information on the cleanliness etc. of the rooms? I don't hava a problem with a "dodgy area" but need to sleep in a clean bed.
Many thanks.

Which Hostal Massachusetts are we talking about? The one in Barcelona, Sevilla, La Coruña, Madrid, or Valencia? Please include the city location in your subject line to help others help you. Thank, Blademan! Saludos, MadridMan

I spent one night at the Hostal Massachusetts in September, before staying at the much nicer Hostal Chelo. I can say that in all honsesty the rooms at Hostal Massachusetts are moderatley clean, and that you can pass a reasonably comfortable night in thier beds. The area is centrely loctaed for tourists- wich attracts "professional ladies" in search of new prospects. In total you will not suffer in the Hostal Massachusetts if you set your expectations(regarding the room, not the ladies seeking companionship) at a reasonable level.
Enjoy Madrid!

You sound like a typical pasty faced little Englander. I think for the price, you've got a bared faced cheek asking for a clean room. I suppose you'll be wanting bone china cups at breakfast. I think you're living in the past. Are you from Chesterfield??? Your kind make me sick. I suppose a "tin a tuna, week a tuuesdi" isn't good enough for you.

I can't beleive what I'm reading. The price you're paying, and you want a clean bed. A regular little Lord Fauntelroy aren't we? When I were a lad, we use to sleep in a sceptic tank. I had to get up at 10 o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, and lick road clean wit' tongue; then our dad would thrash us to sleep wi his belt. Your kind make me sick. You're living in the past. Are you from Chesterfield??? I suppose "tin a tuna, week a tuuuesdi" isn't good enough for you, "me duck"
Anyway, enjoy your stay in Madrid
All the best
Interesting.....teee heeee heeee heeee

Don't worry, MadridMan! The Anchovy has rumbled this dynamic duo and deduced that the Badger is pulling his friend the Blade's leg, because their names, coupled with the kindly reference to a neighbouring town in England gives them away as nothing more sinister than friendly Sheffield United football supporters. Remember "The Full Monty"?

Well spotted Anchovy Front. Throw that man a fish I just happen to be the poor soul who booked Hostal Massachusetts before any negative feedback came in. However, in my defence, it was the only place that would accept a booking for a party of 33 on a stag do. I look forward to updating the board on our return. Cheers Badgerbreath

A tin of tuna will do, Badger! I can see why a dodgy area wouldn't worry you.....and your 32 mates! I wear the red and white stripes too, in England, but as a Mackem, not a Blade. We've waited a long time for our moment to arrive, hope yours does too soon! Have a good time!

Cheers Anchovy Front. As a follower of the beautiful game yourself, do you know how easy it will be for us to have a look round the Bernabeu stadium. Cheers Tone ps I'll have my fingers and toes crossed tonight for your boys

Thanks for the good wishes re yesterday's game, Badger, but it was not to be our night. A Spanish digital channel, Total Futbol, showed the match live and it was entertaining to say the least!
Anyway, I've been looking around to see any references to the stadium tours, but to no avail. From one of your posts on that subject I see that you are there at the beginning of March?
I am going to the stadium on Sunday, as a group of us have tickets to see my adopted local team down here, Malaga CF, play Real Madrid, so I will find out what the score is regarding tours while I'm there and let you know.

Cheers Senor Front, or can I call you Anchovy ? That would be much appreciated. If you need any supplies bringing from dear old Blighty (peanut butter, jaffa cakes,"tin a tuna") just say the word.
Cheers
Tone
