No, you cannot unless you have papers. You can try but if the police see you and request yor permit and you don't have it they will teake you to the "Comisaria". Usually notheing else happens, except that they keep whatever you were selling, but you don't have to spend the night in jail.

Ummmm, I think so. There are many people there that are selling nice things and I've never seen the police bothering them. I don't think is legal but I guess police don't take them because it is almost part of the Madrid's culture to see people selling stuff in the Retiro Park.
What kind of things you want to sell?

The city council givers licenses to sell things at El Rastro. I guess you should go to the Junta Municipal de Centro. But I think they don't give licenses anymore (there are already many stalls).

Antonio

Missmadrid, you would make tons of money!!! Young girls LOVE the stuff you make. I really hope you can get a licence, if not, try to talk to one of the vendors there and ask them if you can join the as a "associate" it would be a nice business because if people stop to see your stuff they might take a look to the stuff that your associate has.

Beside the Rastro and the park are there any real neighborhood flea markets? Brussels brims with them, but they are hard to find in all other cities in Europe...most are vendors with overstock or new items...I'm looking for antiques sold by grandma...any tips?
