El Boqueron has certainly provided a wonderful website (see favorite places) for beaches, etc. in this area. Any first-hand suggestions for lodging? --CC

I stayed in a casa rural (apartment) just outside of San Jose. It's been years but if you're interested, I could dig up the number. It's such a great area- be sure not to miss out on Nijar.

Caution, if you drive to the lighthouse, make sure you don't go at night...there are parts with a one-lane road (one side is a cliff) and you may have to reverse to let a car pass. It happened to me and I haven't been the same since. eek

Nevado, that would be great if you have a recommendation. Check out the favorite places forum and posting by El Boqueron. Maybe that website will refresh your memory? --CC

P.S. Almería province is not a "for sure" but we're looking for somewhere totally new (to us) to visit for a couple of days.
