I plan to visit Spain - entering madrid on the 13th April 00, staying for about 3 nights...

Not particular about staying in any one place, but looking to see Spain the best way possible..

Any Ideas? Love to see flamenco / Salsa dancing at bars etc...need to stay at a place where accommodation is cheaper..perhaps..another town..and not Madrid ..Want this trip to be memorable..in a spanish sort of way...

La Solea near Plaza Mayor was the best for real flamenco music, very intimate and special place. Try to get there before 11pm because it can get too full.

There are many cheap hostals around Sol - MadridMan has a list of the best of them. If you need something really cheaper, its a risk, but I imagine you could get away with sleeping outside. The Retiro is huge, and you could hide yourself away in it for some rest.
