12-16 Apr—Semana Santa (Holy Week). Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Holy Saturday, Easter Sunday and the Monday following are public as well as religious holidays. Throughout the week expect to hear organ concerts and view solemn processions. One that occurs in Madrid circulates around La Latina. A particularly eerie and somber procession takes place in Toledo (45 mi/70 km distant).
