Does anyone have a clue?
For some reason the rent-apartement search on http://www.segundamano.es
produced the best results for Valencia. About 200+. This was in the pricerange of 200-600 euro
for decent looking Pisos.
The same search produced 1 for Barcelona, 1 for Cadiz and 200- for Madrid. Since I have not been in Valencia
for over a decade and then only for one nigth, I cant help but wonder:
Is the place so horrible that nobody wants to live/rent there? What is going on?

Odd! I woke up thinking about Valencia and wondering if it is worth making the trip there. Can anyone shed some light on the pros and cons of Valencia?

It's true! Quite a few peeps are on their way to Valencia for the Las Fallas festival (15-19 March), but for some reason I can't find out how to get there! Where is the nearest airport?! If it's in Valencia why doesn't anyone fly there! Spooky!

Speaking as an "American" tourist, it doesn't seem to me that Valencia city (or even Province or Autonomous Community) is high on any traveler-to-Spain's list of places to visit.

But let's not get off topic. totil@totil.com is looking for an apartment in Valencia city.

So you've tried Segundamano.es and 200 Euros per month is your target rent?? Yikes! eek I'd be afraid to see such a place at this price anywhere in Spain. And you're willing to live anywhere in Spain as long as the price is right?? Be careful!

I have flown in and out of the Valencia airport and it was great. Small and manageable and pretty good paella in the restaurant. The Communidad of Valencia has a lot (A LOT!) of tourism in beach areas, especially the Costa Blanca. We stayed in Denia, which is in Alicante province and flew to and from Mallorca through Valencia. I can offer some tips about the Denia area, but haven't spent any time in the city of Valencia. I have heard about a new science museum there that is supposed to be very nice. I'm not sure that is a reason to go to Valencia, though.

In october I stayed in Valencia for three full days. I kind of liked it. It is a smaller town with an old wall around it. It was nice to walk around in and it has a beautiful park on the west side. But don't think there is a lot to do there like in Madrid or Barcelona. To sum it up, it is a nice place to go if you really want a feel for a real Spanish town.

Not exactly my friend. I am merely curious about quality of life in Valencia.
Cadiz has been largely overlooked by mainstreem tourism so i was wondering if
Valencia had a similar "forgotten town" quality. I will have to dig deeper
as some friends have asked me to look for a flat to buy on the eastern coast
of Spain. I will eventully have to go and check things out firsthand myself:)
