Goodgrief - complete scam -

DO NOT SEND ANY MONEY!!!!!

Winning money, including lotteries, does not require paying ANYTHING - at any time - including the "activation" of an account.

A curse on all those who steal honest people's money.....

Be sure to check out the " Madrid: "Offshore international trust"- authenticity? " thread on the same topic. Good luck and please DON'T send money.

???!!!! It really makes me furious that some people make a living out of stealing other people's lawfully earned money! eek mad

Without needing to read the whole e-mail exchange you've posted I've spotted:

PASEO DELA CASTELLA 330

That is not a valid Madrid address, Paseo de la Castellana 330, would be.

GRANDE LOTTERIA

Wrong again, in any case we'd say: Gran loteria.

Really, what a nerve!
frown rolleyes

Of course never heard of that bank either...

When I was growing up, my mum always used to say to me: "'nadie da nada por nada'", and it has stuck with me. Unfortunatelly it's true....about 99% of the time! smile

And as the other thread on this same exact topic (see link to that other thread in my posting above), the address of Paseo de la Castellana, 300 does not seem to even exist - according to QDQ.com. Finally, the phone numbers they list above are to CELL phones and NOT to land-based telephone lines. That alone is suspicious.

I've received a number of email questions about the validity of this "GRANDE LOTTERIA" rolleyes and it always reminds me of that African bank-holdings scam where the "rightful owner" will give you 1/4 of the total if you give them your banking information to which the African bank will gladly, and without question, forward the cash to you. Sheeesh! rolleyes

1) Spanish lottery is NEVER claimed via such organizations.

2) The address doesn't exist (as Pim said it should be Paseo de la Castellana, 330, and as Madridman said that address doesn't exist at all).

3) Their telephone is a mobile phone.

4) It is not a reckoned financial organization in Spain.

5) A spanish financial entity wouldn't contact you by e-mail

6) You can't win a lottery in which you haven't played

7) Their fiscal number "N.I.F. 189067329YI" doesn't exist. Companies fiscal ID are called C.I.F. and not N.I.F. (which would be "Número de Identificación Fiscal", only for persons, not for companies).

8) International transfers' fee from or to spanish accounts are not higher than a hundred euros.

9) Spanish lottery does not require any fees to be claimed.

10) "Office of the Branch Director" would never be a job title, not even on multinationals.

11) Their efax number "+14-197-814-451" is not a valid spanish phone number. Their fax number "34 655 373 966" is a spanish mobile phone.

12) "GRANDE LOTTERIA" is not the name of spanish lottery, which would be "Lotería Nacional".

13) "This is in accordance with article 44 Subsections 144 of the spanish Lottery Commissions Gaming Regulations as amended in the 1996 Constitution"

Our Constitution was signed in 1978 and no amendments have been done so far. No reference is made to lottery, which is regulated by organical laws, not the Constitution.

It is clearly a fraud. If you sent money to them I suggest you to give the information to chinese police or go to www.policia.es which is an online "police station" of the spanish police. You may also forward all these e-mails to delitos.tecnologicos@policia.es which is the contact with the spanish police technological crimes unit. There are several ways in which those people could be caught: their false fax and phone numbers, their e-mail and their web site.

You should always delete such mails in the future (but keep the ones you have! they are a proof!).

I really hope they got caught. It is incredible how cruel some people can be...

Don't loose hope, months ago a band was imprisoned in Spain for doing something similar. Our police is quite good, I'm sure they will catch the criminals.

If you sent them an e-mail they will investigate it surely. Now, your best chance is to let chinese police know the facts so they can investigate too. Perhaps it could help to go to the nearest spanish consulate to let them know and to ask for information on what and how to do.

I'm not an expert on this, but that is what I would do if I were you: Ask spanish police (you did it already), chinese police and the spanish consulate.

Regards.

This is a new variety of the same false award I received today. Be aware that spanish lottery would never contact you by e-mail, nor it gives award to people who has not bought a lottery ticket.

This time they use a reputed company's name (Seguros Santa Lucía) which is legal, but they give you a false hotmail-type e-mail contact address.

This is a scam! These are people that pose as businesses, charitable groups or contest organizers that buy bulk e-mail and send bogus award winning announcements to scam people of their money. They also send out mail to your homes announcing that you have won their "jackpot". They all tell you the same thing...in order to claim your prize you must send them a "collection or processing fee". No legitimate contest organizer will ask you for fees! These people want you to send them your bank account information, credit card numbers and other personal information in order to steal your money. DO NOT RESPOND! They will tap into your bank accounts and take you money!

Sadly many elderly people fall prey to these con artists, wiping out their life savings.
If you have not entered any legitmate contests then obviously you cannot be a winner!

Unfortunately the police may not be able to do anything at the moment as there has been no crime committed. However they may or should at least keep the information for future problems. These guys may not even be in Spain.

I keep getting letters from Nigeria which try to get my bank information so they can "deposit" various immense amounts of "money" for which I am to be paid as a go-between. I replied to several of them, stating I was a police officer and tried to set up a meeting! These idiots still sent me more! (They never accepted my offer to meet face-to-face!). Unfortunately, now my email box is besieged with this junk. Sheesh!

Dear Spanish friend :
It is another letter for spanish award winning with International offshore trust bank and its Madrid bank director Dr Matilda Williams . Please read it .
Hello, Dear Feng, i am Marcela, from Republic of Moldova.I am writing you now, after i read your letters from Matilda Williams, from the Lotteria of Spain, that you published them in the Benmize forum, where you registred on 23 july 2004.

The reason of writing you is that i am in the same situation : i recieved the same letters from them, like you have showed to the forum. The only thing is that i' ve send them 10054 euros, and now , after i' ve read the comments from the forum, i don't think that i will ever recieve my money back.

I am a very poor person, as i belived in them , and i sold my flat to send them those comissions.I am also a teacher, like you,(i have over 40 years) , and a am a very sincerily person, belive me.My husband died few months ago, and i hoped that , this prize will be for me a reliving...but it wasn't so...Now i leave with my 2 dauthers ,in my friend's hause, and i am really dispered.

So, by this letter,i would like to ask you ,if you know something more about this ilegal organization, becouse, here, in Moldova the informations are very small, and ,i don' t know very well english.

If you would know, how much i' ve suffered becouse of that, how much money a' ve spend on calling them on mobile, from here, how much i' ve implored them to be more understanding with me, and to help me somehow to pay the money for me, and than i would give them back everything, and so on...

I hope you understood me, becouse i do not want to suffer enymore, and, meybe somehow, we can cooperate in this situation, of course if you want...I can send you some of their last letters ,that Matilda send to me:

Dear Boboc Marcela,
When you send the money then inform us.

kingofchn, are you still not convinced this company is a fraud? Hope you haven't already sent them money! I'm a little confused by the email exchange above.

I think the poor sap who sent them the money is either out of luck, or maybe trying to set up a scam based on a "poor me" story. . . as in "poor me, I lost all my money, my house, etc., could you, out of the goodness of your heart help me with a small donation?" In a funny way, I hope it is the latter, because then they aren't really hurt. If so, it might be the same people who put out the Lotto scam, just trying a new angle.

These people know no shame, and deserve to work at hard labor in a prison the rest of their lives with thier slave wages going to their victims.

Mmmm, I think I understand the last kingofchn post. Someone e-mailed him explaining she had suffered the same scam. That "Matilda Williams" told them to call the number 0034 625 251 814 to talk with the "claims agent".

Both kingofchn and the other woman sent money to this supposed company.

IT IS A SCAM with 0% of error kingofchn. That phone number is a mobile phone number. Forward it to police as it is possible to know who owns it.

I hate to say this...

wink :p

... but I totally agree with Fernando.

It's a scam, no doubt. Anyway, they have a website that looks like an obviously well-prepared part of the scam. Looks like a nice corporate website, but there is nothing behind but for the Catellana 330 adress, an Andorran adress, some email adresses, and biographies. No bank products, no other branches of the "international bank", no nothing.

That besides of the mobile phone for answering inquiries, plus unexistant lottery, plus, plus, ...

One question for mr. kingofchn: Did you ever buy a ticket for that lottery?

I bet you didn't. They just played with your innocence. I have read again your letter and I believe you haven't paid yet, wisely asking for a loan of them to pay for the fees, that you would repay after cashing the prize.

If you did, go to the police. It's unprobable the'll give you a solution but it's the best you can do.

I don't have as good opinion on the spanish police as Fernando, and believe they'll probably do nothing unless they bump into these criminals by accident or into a wider campaign of net-crime harassment, and maybe the fact that your letter was in English was an obstacle, since not many people in Spain is good enough in foreign languages (at least good enough to be able to work with it in delicate matters like this).

Good thing you didn't kingofchn! You would have lost it.

I'm sure that the only reason for make this woman call to that mobile phone is to ask for more money to solve some problem or whatever. They won't return back her money FOR SURE.

I really hope they end imprisoned.

We see about 10 inquiries a week from this scam alone. Gee, can't be that many winners of a lottery that no one bought tickets for! It is a scam, the Spanish authorities are aware of it and the US FBI has an open investigation. Anyone in the US hit by the scam should report it to their local FBI office. Over the past year we have been told of over $2 million dollars lost to this and other similar scams with a Spanish connection!

If she can use the internet cafe to email you, she can also use it to email others, or how about a telephone? Pigeons? C'mon! Email isn't the only way to talk to people! Maybe we could end this charade about this scam once and for all? Something about this whole correspondence with kngochin seems a bit fishy.

Ufff... I had readen it already. What do you want, more proofs?

Naruhito Akihito, both the name and the surname are the names of the current japanese emperor and his son and heir.

Juan Felipe Martínez de Borbón uses a reckoned surname from our current king's dinasty (Borbón) though I'm completely sure no such man exists, and of course noone with that name is working for a bank which uses a hotmail e-mail account and is located in an address which doesn't exist and uses mobile phones as corporate phone numbers.

I have written and posted almost 20 reasons or more to show why this is a fraud. If someone thinks it isn't it is up to him to try to take the "money".

I'll keep working to earn it and will beware of this kind of scams
