Well, i have a few extra hours to get a Barcelona Hotel, compared to the time I had to find the Madrid one (horrific circular time - work way too much, decide to escape on vacation, too busy at work to figure out housing. Feh.)

A friend stayed at the Hostal Ingles and liked it. Anyone have recommendations for another place? Ideally not more than 50E or so a night, and definitely in a safe neighborhood (traveling solo).

I'll be there the 16th departing on the 19th (first day for Festes de la merce).

Hi again! Have you browsed those hostels in Barcelona with websites on MadridMan\'s Barcelona Hostels page yet? A number of these have been reviewed here in this fora. You can do a SEARCH by clicking the SEARCH link above/right and typing the name of the hostel with the name of the city. So, for example, your keywords could be BARCELONA CENTRIC and you'll then find all the reviews about this particular hostel. OR, if you're seeking reviews of hostels which do not have websites I'd recommend using keywords like HOSTAL BARCELONA and you'll get them all.
