Hi People,

I've booked with various hostels like Lopez (MAD), San Remo (BCN) & others in Cuenca, etc.

Was wondering if they provide kettle for you to boil water in your room ?

Or do we have to request for hot water from the common area ?

I've stayed in Youth Hostels, where there's only 1 or 2 kettles in the common area for everyone's usuage. In the morning, when everyone is preparing their drinks, it was like a mad queue for it.

I was wondering if I should bring a mini traveller kettle for convenience sake.

Thanks

I'm not certain about Hostal San Remo in Barcelona (email them to ask or PM one of those who recently gave their reviews of the place here) but I know Hostal López does not provide a kettle. In fact, I've never seen a hostel (called "hostal" in Spanish) which did provide a kettle in which you could heat/boil water. I would not think hostel owners in general would object if you used one of these in their rooms as long as you didn't start a fire. wink
