anyone out there know a cheap way to leave some luggage in barcelona? bus station, train station, and aiports all offer left luggage or lockers but charge 3€ a day. for a forty day detour from my belongings, that's too pricey.

any ideas? maybe you've used the left luggage before you know a trick... any help is much appreciated.

cheers,

jill

Hi jetaway! You want to leave your luggage someplace for FORTY days in Barcelona? Wow! I'm not at all sure you can even leave luggage that long at the pay-per-day-of-storage at the bus/train stations or airport. I don't think you'll do any better than this, I'm afraid. Anyone else have ideas for Barcelona?

Good luck! Saludos, MadridMan

Sants seems very secure - the left luggage that is, not the station itself (I'm sure one of the compartments of my rucksack was picked there last year, but for the life of me I can't remember what I had in that pocket) - there are guards and everything gets x-rayed on the way in. It was relatively cheap, can't remember how much though, and I don't know if you can leave anything there for extended periods.

Sorry, not much help, I was only looking for somewhere to store luggage for a few hours so that I could concentrate on the important business of shopping...

Jetaway-

What will you be doing in Barcelona prior to or after travelling? If you'll be living with a family during a study abroad session or staying at a hostel for an extended amount of time, you should ask your host or the hostal owner to see if they'll hold them for you. If you have a decent relationship, usually they will help you out in that way. A friend of mine did that for about 1 month. Of course, it all depends on where you'll be and who's running the place, and it may cost you some money-or at least a token thank you gift for them- but it's worth a shot!!
