How hot is it August 1 WHERE? We just returned from Madrid where it was in the upper 90's. Southern Spain was probably 35C...100F? TOASTY. I saw men and women in shorts...but the longer, walking short variety...not jogging shorts unless the people were jogging, and not those 1 inch inseam numbers girls are fond of wearing here. Young women wore spaghetti strap, halter and tube tops with very clingy skirts or capris. Some women of my vintage also wore shorts and many wore sleeveless tops. Sandals were everywhere, but I also saw a lot of gym shoes. It was cooler in Granada than anywhere else. If you go north to Galicia, for example, temperatures should be more comfortable.
