From reading about this wine establishment, it looks to me like an awesome place to eat. I've always preferred a place where one comes for the wine and stays for the food, and not vice versa.
Has anyone ever tried this restaurant? Is this actually like that? We would like to go there for lunch one day in December, and I wonder what their lunch hours might be.

El Catavinos (means "wine-taster") is wonderful. The emphasis is on fine wines but the food is also fantastic.

Prices range from 8 - 18 Euros for main courses.

There is also a 24 Euro seven-course tasting menu (menu de degustacion) served to a minimum of two people. Each course is a large serving in a dish placed on the table to share. You might sample venison and veal meatballs in tomato sauce, partridge salad, peppers stuffed with rabbit, etc. This includes a variety of wines; all the wines you can drink.

Tuesday to Saturday noon until midnight. Sundays noon until 4:00 p.m.
