Try Las Ventas website . There are two novillos scheduled for the weekend of October 22-23.

Yeah, the regular season is already over. It's just novillos from here on until next year.

A novillo is a novice matador. They perform with smaller, younger bulls. It can be good and it can be bad. They are cheaper than full corridas.

I just went to a Novillos a couple weeks ago in Madrid. Since it was my first bullfight, I didn't notice the quality of the bullfight to be lacking. Probably like someone going to a minor league baseball game who's never seen baseball before - wouldn't know that the skill level wasn't as high.

The tickets were about half the price of a regular bullfight, we were about 7 rows up in the "sun and shade" section, which cost about 15 euros each. Las Ventas, which holds about 20,000 people was maybe half full.

If you've never seen one, I would definitely go. I don't know if I'll necessarily go again, but you have to go at least once.

The only bullfight I have ever been to was a novillo too. The guys were pretty bad at actually killing the bull. Like they just couldn't get it on the first couple of trys. Which made it worse. But you still have all the pomp of a regular "corrida" so yes, I agree, its interesting especially if you dont have a "pro" one to go to...
have fun!

Know this will be cutting you close on time Legendary, but try and read up a bit on bullfighting if you are going for the first time. Suggestions anyone?????

Dd plan on attending if you can - I grew up seeing bullfights in Mexico and assimilated knowledge I suppose ... but, for me, the artistry is akin to that of a dancer ...
