We took some good friends from Madrid out to Las Murallas (corner of Avenida Menendez and Saiz de Baranda)about two weeks ago and had some of the best fish I've ever had. This sits at the end of Sainz de Baranada facing the retiro. My wife had the merluza a la casa-hake in a light sauce with salmon and ham topping-wow, let me tell you, this was good. I went for the less adventurous lenguado a la plancha and it was mouth wateringly tender. If you are a fan of gambas al ajillo, the shrimps in hot olive oil and garlic, we found this very good as well-so perfectly tender and tasty. And the service-man alive, the waiter was so knowledgeable, good natured, and truly customer oriented that this will be a regular for us every time we go back to Madrid.
