I leave a week from tomorrow! I enjoy bringing coffee back from other countries, and wonder what brands you folks would recommend I buy? I'll be primarily in Barcelona.

When you are out for coffee, look on the shelf under the counter where the coffee machine is for the bag of the coffee they are serving. After a week of stopping at different cafeterias you will know what you like best and then you can buy it at the supermarket.

I like Santa Cristina, j3p. Incidentally, I don't know if the word translates into "American", but English visitors can't go back home without buying a packet of Bonka in my opinion!! laugh

Or for that matter a box of Colon Washing Powder... eek

Hmm.... are there any more unfortunately named products on the shelves? confused

While I love Spain as much as anyone, I was not a huge fan of their coffee. Give me a good cafecito or cortadito made with Bustelo or Pilon anytime. Look in a latin market anywhere in the US.

Hola Cooter,
Do they have Pilon or Bustelo in Spain? I thought these two brands were U.S. made only. I went to the grocery in Madrid and Santiago and did not see them. But I agree with you 100% there's nothing like un cortadito de Pilon!

While I purchased Spanish chocolate, which is marvelous, I did not buy any coffee, because as you say Cooter our own Pilon is so good.
