Hi, would appreciate any help on the following questions on our visit to Toledo :

1. How much should we budget for a taxi from the train station to where we are staying - the Hostal Santo Tome ?

2. How much does a ticket on the tourist train/tram cost ? Is it possible to reserve a ticket in advance for a specific time in the evening as we have read that the views are spectacular at that time, or are tickets sold only for current rides ?

3. We arrive in the morning from Madrid and will spend the night before returning to Madrid the next day. I understand that it is possible to take a bus from Toledo to visit the windmills at Consuegra, which looks really fascinating. Any more info/advice/suggestions on this excursion ? Will it be doable in the afternoon, leaving us the morning and evening in Toledo ?

1. The distance betwen the railway station and your hostel is less than 2km. so the taxi cannot be expensive. I don't know how much but I guess less than 10 euro.

2. About the tourist tramway, it isn't a real train but one of those tourists mini trams circulating across the the city.

3. To visit Consuegra, I couldn't find information about organized excursions to the Molinos in Consuegra. This town is only 63km from Toledo City so I think that you could rent a car or even take a taxi to go there.

Hi Damian, thats amazing,thanx so much. Will budget 10E for the cab, and the first website you gave for Consuegra shows the bus service timings between Toledo and Consuegra under Turismo - Horario de autobuses (pardon my bad spanish!). So thats fantastic info.
Just to know, how much do you think a cab to Consuegra and back would cost in case we wanted to have a quick visit and not depend on buses ? We prefer not to rent a car as we are used to driving on the other side here.

the taxi from toledo to consuegra is not cheap. I use my own car but a friend took it in 2005 and cost him 70 USD with a one hour waiting period for the return to toledo.
