I was most recently in Salamanaca back in the summer of 2003. In the new Turism Office within the Plaza Mayor, there were many decorative plates, wall hangings, pottery, etc typical of the city. At the time, I couldn't purchase what I wanted due to a time crunch. I'd now like to buy what I should have bought two years ago. Anyone know if Salamanca's Turism Office has a website? What about an online store where you can buy decorative pieces beyond the stuff typically found online? Anyone living in Salamanca now know if that Turism Office still has that stuff for sale? Any help is appreciated.

I've never seen a Spanish tourist office selling things typically sold in a gift shop but maybe the one in Salamanca does. Odd.

I don't think they have their own website but you can find it through the Spain Tourism Bureau's webpage for Salamanca - which includes that tourist office's address and phone number - @ http://www.spain.info/TourSpain/Destinos/TipoII/Datos+Generales/H/RH/0/salamanca?language=en

Good luck! Saludos, MadridMan

Yeah, I know it sounds weird. I hope that the office wasn't just there for the 2003 festivities taking place in Salamanca. My guess is that the items I mentioned were specific to those celebrations for Salamanca. Oh well, I will keep my fingers crossed that someone knows what I talking about... smile

Yes, the Turismo ofc in the Plaza Mayor of Salamanca sells items (as well as hands out brochures). They have some cute stuff - things I haven't seen in the other tourist shops. Maybe you could email them and ask how to order them? Try informacion@turismodesalamanca.es
