A person coming to Texas who spent his time in Dallas, Houston, and San Antonio would leave with an idea of the uniqueness of each of those towns, but not with much of an idea of the heart of Texas -- which comes from the little people in all of the little towns.

I have read very little on this board about the small towns in Spain. What are some of the small towns that a person should visit -- and why-- to help get the flavor of Spain? Or, for some reason, does that not also apply to Spain?

I would suggest visiting San Javier (Murcia). Its a small town which (to me) was perfect! I really am not a fan of small cities since I am from one. But this had southern hospitality, a fair share of tourists of all backrounds, and a nice little beach. It had everything a big city would have...clubs, mall, etc. It was within minutes of other cities so it was great!
