I have been asked for advice by a friend who is going to Spain on his honeymoon, and would like to visit Barcelona. Can anyone recommend a nice barrio of Barcelona that is a safe and a quaint/romantic place for two newly weds to stay?

Also has anyone been to Cadeques outside of Barcelona? I hear great things about it, but don't have any first hand knowledge. Any knowledge of hotels or good neighborhoods would be appreciated.
