Wendy Junior Member posted 06-19-2000 05:23 PM --------------------------------------------- I will be in Spain for about 2 weeks in the beginning of July. I have the following planned: 3 nights in Madrid 2 nights in the Pyrenees for Stage 10 of the Tour de France 2 nights in Pamplona for Festival de San Fermin 2 nights in San Sebastian
We will have a rental car and want to know what else there is to do. We will leave San Sebastian and still have 2 nights before we'll go to Barcelona.
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Wendy
Also, MadridMan, I can't seem to access your site from Netscape, only Explorer....any reason?

What day of July are you planning on leaving? I'm leaving the 3rd of July on Iberia from Florida. We hope to visit Madrid, Paris, Rome and Barcelona. I was wondering whether you had ever ate at "Antigua Casa de Botin". A friend recommended it strongly to us. Hope to hear from you soon!

WOW Wendy! What a great trip you have planned! AND, you have it planned SO well! Seems you've allowed yourself a fair amount of time in each place and what's this about Stage 10 of the Tour de France?! WOW! How exciting! As for Netscape and MadridMan.com, it's the funkiest thing! Some versions and my website don't get along. Actually, I can't even say that because it seems to be hit-and-miss. My apologies. I've had NETSCAPE experts look over my HTML and even THEY can't figure it out. Microsoft Internet Explorer does work everytime though. Look out for MadridMan.com version 4.0 in a couple months -- a WHOLE new look. Prepare yourself!! JanetP, even MadridMan himself hasn't eaten at Casa de Botín in Madrid yet! Whenever I try to go the place is packed FULL! I hope to be successful in October though. Saludos, MadridMan -------------------- Love Spanish Foods? Madridman, Have you tried to validate your HTML code through the w3c validator?. Just go to http://validator.w3c.org and type there your address. It will tell you which parts of your code are not standard HTML compliant. This could be the mistake. Regards, Antonio ------------------ The best tips from your favourite hostal in Madrid. You might want to take an hour's drive west from San Sebastian to Bilbao and visit that city with its new ('97) Guggenheim museum and many other attractions.
Or, with 2-days, continue west on the autovia to Santander and see the tennis matches, or the beautiful beaches or even the Picos de Europa (mountains).

Thanks for all the replies. And, MadridMan, thanks for the compliment. I've planned the entire trip via research from the web and have never been to Spain and haven't even purchased a book, yet. The Tour de France was an idea my boyfriend and I came up with. We hear it's quite a party of there in those mountains. If not, I'm sure Pamplona will satisfy any real appetite for fun. And, hopefully a couple of nights in San Sebastian will be perfect for a little R&R before hitting the clubs in Barcelona.
Hi Janet. We are leaving Los Angeles via United on the 1st of July and are flying into Paris. We will be there for 4 nights before flying to Madrid. It sounds like we have a very similar itinerary planned, although I'm not going to make it to Italy. And, no, I haven't been to that restaurant, but I think I'll check it out.
I'm having some difficulty finding a place to stay in Barcelona....anyone have any suggestions? Maybe a place that's not on the internet that you've been to?
MadridMan, I'll be happy to give you tons of feedback on places, etc. when I return. Thanks for the great site.
