Hello all. I'm going to be going to Spain in a couple months and need to get from the Barajas Airport to Estación Sur to catch a bus. I've done this before on the Metro , but this time I'm going to have two large suitcases, a carry-on, and a laptop computer with me so I don't think the Metro would be a good idea.

Anyway, since I have all that luggage, I'm thinking the best way to cross the city would be in Taxi this time. I was just wondering if anyone could give me a ballpark figure for about what a taxi ride from the Airport to Estación Sur would cost? I just wanted to know about what they should charge me so I don't get ripped off....

Hey Chris . I use the taxi service often from Barajas to Madrid Central .. heavy bags or not ( I'm lazy ! ) . I've paid ( tips included ) as little as 20 Euros and never more than 30 Euros . I would say the charge on the meter has been somewhere between 18 and 25 Euros . Steve

00chris, luckily the southern bus station is right along the M30 innerbelt so steve robinson's estimation is probably pretty close.

Remember that you always pay a surcharge when being picked up at or going to the airport so don't be surprised when they stop and tell you an amount about 3 Euros higher than what's on the meter.

Actually the surcharge for the airport is 5,25 euros . It'll be added at the end of the journey.

Yeah that surcharge thing was a big omission by me jejeje ... As one lady in the ticket office of the bullring said to me " You have NO respect for money " ... jeje That's a story for later hahaha
