Hi Everyone!

Please, could anyone tell me if there is a RENFE counter at Malaga airport? I'm also flying to Malaga April 25th and want to take the train to Sevilla the same day as it's so close to the Feria. Should I try to pre-book the tickets?

Cheers!!

You must take the bus or a taxi into the center of the town to get to the train station.

By the way, have you considered taking a bus instead of the train? It might also be an option. The bus and train station are in the smae area. I try to always check both options before traveling. The tour books says that it is 2 1/2 hours by bus and that there are 10 buses a day.

thanks for your help
I had planned to get the train from the airport
to Malaga- renfe station and take the Sevilla connection from there as that's what I did last time so I know the route. Because I should land
in Malaga at 9.30 am , I doubt if I would make the 10.40 and the next one is at 2pm !!
your idea of the bus sounds a much a better option

is there a web site for the bus route ?
do you know where the bus station is in relation to the Renfe station

I really appreciate any more info you may have

The bus company which covers this line is Continental Auto @ http://www.continental-auto.es/ . Their website is only in Spanish, however, but here's the quick information for MALAGA to SEVILLA:

The bus station is just north one block and east one block of the train station...very close. Good luck.

I wouldn't worry about not getting tickets. I went from Malaga to Sevilla during Feria and bought the tickets that day. Contrary to popular belief, attendees to the Fair are mostly Sevillanos, who already live there and around, and tourists.

I've never heard of a Malagueño wanting to go to the Feria. It's almost blasphemous to admit you like another town's Feria better than your own town's!

So, you should be ok in terms of finding space on the train.

I wouldn't recommend the bus. The seats are tiny on most.

I would also recommend taking the train from malaga. There is a train that runs by the airport and takes you into malaga city. This same train also takes you to the tourist resort areas of torremolinos and fuengirola( which is the opposite direction of malaga)From what I can remember when I was there last year it is about two euros for this train). When you reach malaga city the station to go to sevilla is very close. From what I remember it costs 14 euros to go from malaga to sevilla. The train ride is somewhat scenic when you go through the mountains on the way to sevilla. It is also spacious an comfortable.
